We moved a real client's books into AGL Nova, and every year-end matched to the cent

Taking on a new client usually means hours of sorting before any accounting starts. We want that first day in AGL Nova to feel like setting up a new iPhone, without giving up anything an accountant needs. This week a real client's books came across from WinBiz, and every year-end matched the accountant's own figures to the cent.

Equal to the cent

We moved a real client's books into AGL Nova, and every year-end matched to the cent

A new client rarely arrives tidy. You ask for bank files and get PDFs. Invoices come in as photos taken on a kitchen table, a contract's saved twice, and page two of a bill is sitting in its own file. Years of books live in the old software. Someone spends hours sorting all of it before any real accounting happens.

We want that first day to feel like setting up a new iPhone. It's the hardest thing we've tried in AGL Nova, because a business product can't give up any of its power to get there. And in accounting, a smooth guess is worse than a slow answer.

Sure, or asking

So Nova only files what it's sure of. You drop in whatever you have, photos, PDFs, a ZIP, the books from the old software, and you get one screen back for the whole pile. Most papers file themselves. Some are ready to check. When Nova isn't sure, it shows you a card with the doubtful part boxed, what it thinks and why, and one field to answer. Duplicates, missing pages and pages that belong together are Nova's job to find, not yours.

The files you hand over are never changed. Every decision is written down, and any of them can be undone until the paper's booked.

What's already working

This week we moved a real client's books across from WinBiz, and every year-end matched the accountant's own figures to the cent.

You can review a whole month of bank lines and confirm them in one go, then undo any of them on its own date. One screen shows where a company's money is and where it went, and tapping any line opens its proof, highlighted on the bank statement or boxed on the paper.

Every part of Nova works with AI switched off. Where AI helps, its cost is capped per company. The intake that turns a pile of paper into one screen is what we're building next, and every release runs thousands of automated tests before it ships.

Projects, press or anything else.
