We made AGL Nova read a whole pile of paperwork in one drop and ask only what it can't settle

Drop hundreds of files or a handful into AGL Nova, including bank statements, receipts and blurry photos. It gives you an estimate, gets to work while you do something else, and leaves a short review you can clear at a glance.

One drop, then a glance

We made AGL Nova read a whole pile of paperwork in one drop and ask only what it can't settle

Accounting software usually wants your full attention. We want AGL Nova to feel more like the apps you use at home: you hand it the work, and it comes back with a short list of questions.

One drop

You drop everything at once. It might be hundreds of files or three, and they can be bank statements, receipts or a blurry photo of a coupon. Reading messy paper is something we solved a while ago. Now we're doing it for the whole pile in one go, quickly and without letting accuracy slip.

As soon as the files land, Nova shows an estimate and starts working. So you can leave your desk to take a call, draft a contract or review documents while it fills things in. It puts each line in the right place, from bank accounts to bank lines, with very high precision. We'll keep making it faster.

A glance and you're done

When Nova isn't sure, the item goes on a review list built to be read at a glance. People have less attention to spare every year, and an accountant would rather spend it on more clients or on an evening off.

In most systems, an invoice the software can't place sends you somewhere else to sort it out. Nova shows the receipt or statement right there, with a couple of likely answers. You pick one or type your own, and it carries on without you leaving the page. If you went for lunch, the work is waiting when you get back, with Nova's hints on anything it double-checked. You stay in control, and manual entries and corrections are always there for the classic problems, like a missing invoice or a client's mistake.

The paper can come from our own scanner too. We built one for high volumes, and its scans go straight into Nova.

AGL Nova is in early alpha. The accountants testing it tell us it doesn't get much better than this. We're proud that work this serious is starting to feel like a consumer app.

Projects, press or anything else.
